Submission timeline

Opening of the online submission: May 12, 2025 at 9:00 AM

Deadline for abstract submission: June 23, 2025 at 5:00 PM

Application requirements

  1. Anyone is eligible for application, as long as the research contributes to sports physical therapy.
  2. There is no limit to the number of presentations that can be registered by the first author; however, the same or similar presentations cannot be registered multiple times.
  3. Although abstract registration is free in principle, those who are not members of the Japanese Physical Therapy Association and who have a physical therapist license in Japan are required to pay an abstract registration fee of 10,000 yen (excluding tax) per person per abstract, regardless of whether the person is a principal presenter or a co-presenter. (Those who do not have a physical therapist license in Japan as well as those who have a physical therapist license abroad are not charged). Members who have suspended their membership or whose membership fees are in arrears are also subject to abstract registration fee payments.

Application Notes

  1. Please ensure that the contents of the submitted abstract and the actual presentation are not significantly different.
  2. Do not submit abstracts that are similar in contents or that are submitted to or published by other academic societies or magazines. If these facts are discovered after the adoption of the abstract, they may be canceled.
  3. The final decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of abstracts, presentation dates and times, presentation format, and classification will be at the discretion of the Congress Chair and the Preparatory Committee. Requests for changes in presentation dates and times will not be accepted.
  4. You cannot cancel registration after the abstract submission period or change the registered contents.
  5. We regard change of the presenter as a proxy presentation by the co- speaker. Only the principal presenter is able to register the presentation as lifelong learning points (points for presentation) of the Japanese Physical Therapy Association (neither double issuance nor sharing by speakers is possible).
  6. When the principal speaker is unable to make a presentation, the co-speaker should make the presentation.
  7. If you are unable to make a presentation on the day, please note that the registration of the speaker for academic conferences next year, including co-speakers, may not be permitted.。
  8. Please submit your application after obtaining approval from the co-speaker. Please note that the co-speakers will take the same responsibilities as the principal speaker.。
  9. Please report any conflicts of interest in accordance with the items in the abstract submission system.
  10. The copyright for the abstracts belongs to the Japanese Society of Sports Physical Therapy and the abstracts will be made available online.
  11. E-mail must be unique to the registrant (shared addresses among affiliated institutions are not acceptable).
  12. E-mail communications related to abstract registration will be sent to the e-mail address confirmed at the time of account registration. Please check your e-mail regularly for important notices. If you wish to change your registered e-mail address, please update it immediately. Please note that this is not linked to My Page.
  13. Please do not use mobile mail. If you use a free e-mail service, please note that e-mails sent by the Preparation Committee may be classified as junk mail. Please allow the domain “jsspt.jspt.or.jp" to receive e-mails.
  14. Please note that all the above points are the sole responsibility of the registrant.

Ethical Approval

Please ensure that your research complies with the ethical principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki.
In particular, for studies involving potential privacy concerns or impacts on the human body, you must clearly state in the [Ethical Considerations] section of the abstract that the subjects were provided with an explanation, and that informed consent was obtained.
Additionally, if the research has been approved by the ethics committee of the presenter’s affiliated institution, this should also be stated in the [Ethical Considerations] section. Abstracts that do not include this information may not be accepted.
Please note that the [Ethical Considerations] section will be used for abstract review and will also be published in the abstract book. However, this will not be counted toward the word limit of the abstract.
When indicating approval from the ethics committee of your affiliated or related institution, please omit the institution name to ensure blinding.

Including the institution’s name may lead to identification of individuals. If omitting the institution’s name poses a problem, please contact the administrative office for further guidance.

Example: "This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of our institution (Approval Number: XXX)."

  2. Abstract text

To provide a consistent format for reviewers and attendees, the abstract must be structured into the following four distinct paragraphs (The section headings ([Introduction /Purpose], [Methods], etc.) are included in the word count.):

    • General Abstracts: [Introduction/Purpose] [Methods] [Results] [Discussion] [Conclusions] [Ethical Considerations]
    • Case Reports: [Introduction] [Case Presentation] [Clinical Course] [Discussion] [Conclusions] [Ethical Considerations]
    • Figures and tables cannot be included.

Your registration data will be used directly in the abstracts and program, so please be sure to check your registration carefully.

  6. Maximum Number of Authors and Affiliations

Both the first author and co-authors register their affiliations. The total number of authors, including the first author and co-authors, must not exceed 15. The maximum number of affiliations that can be registered is 8. If more than 8 affiliations are entered, the abstract submission may not be processed correctly.
A Japanese Physical Therapy Association (JPTA) membership number is required for all co-authors. Please verify the correct membership number in advance.

    • JPTA members or those in the application process: Enter the 8-digit membership number.
    • Non-members (including professionals from other fields): Enter "00000000.”

Co-authors must be individuals who are responsible for the research methods and results. Gift authorship is not permitted.

Co-authors will be displayed and printed in the order they are entered.

For affiliations, please use the shortest possible full name, without abbreviations. Whenever possible, omit corporate and department names. If multiple abstracts are submitted from the same department, ensure that the institution’s name is consistent across all submissions.
